This ice cream and dessert shop is situated in the heart of a Southern California college town offers an incredible amount of foot traffic from all the college students! Not only is this dessert shop a destination with several great restaurants but there are luxury student condos above the retail spaces as well.
The owners have done a first class buildout: the space has high ceilings, rustic faux wood tile walls, hip accent lighting, digital menu boards and delightful displays showcasing their products. In addition, they have 4.5 stars on Yelp. The space is very welcoming and offers free wi-fi. The kitchen provides a type 2 hood (no open flame), a shared grease trap and a walk in freezer that can easily be converted to a refrigerator. The equipment is virtually new, well maintained and in amazing condition!
Unfortunately, the owners are very absentee and have another business in another So Cal county. They were insightful enough to start the right concept, in the right location, with the right audiance; however, despite just opening they are putting zero effort into ramping up this business. They are seriously neglecting both their marketing and social media. We all know the money, time, and frustration required to build out a space; you can deplete your funds before even opening the doors. This seller has done the difficult and expensive work already; save your funds for working capital and marketing!
