I sell businesses – my deal sizes range from $1M - $30M and typically fall in the $1 - $10M bucket. I handle businesses that are technical (engineering, construction, technology, etc.) or complex in nature, have greater-than-usual confidentiality requirements, or have a unique or unusual twist.
I get the most satisfaction from closing the challenging transactions.
I recently sold a specialty business that the Seller owned and operated for 30+ years. Ready to retire, we marketed his business and met with strong response.
Every possible pitfall happened on this transaction: a dishonest Buyer substantially misrepresented himself and we had to unwind the first deal. On the next deal, we discovered during escrow that a long time employee was embezzling from payroll and the Buyer had an unknown bank lien against his home! We overcame every obstacle one-by-one, and transitioned the business to a capable, qualified Buyer. Today, he runs the business successfully, and the Seller is enjoying a well-deserved retirement. I love happy endings!
